OWNER: Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)

START DATE: 11/2012

END DATE: 02/2016

Sowinski Sullivan provided architectural services for the renovation of the 69th Street Transportation Center’s West Terminal. The 69th street bus and trolley loop is connected to the Market Frankford Terminal and Norristown High Speed line, linking four separate mass transit modes in one facility. Sowinski Sullivan worked on all modes of this facility, including the design of improvements to the existing trolley, bus, subway, and high-speed lines. These improvements brought light and air into the underground passageways as well as addressed storm water runoff through the application of a green roof. The platforms, canopies, screen walls and passenger spaces were renovated and expanded as part of this project.
