Sowinski Sullivan is the architect developing the expansion of the existing Metro Rail System from University Station terminating north of Interstate 990. The light rail expansion would be approximately 7 miles. Ten stations are proposed, two with park & ride facilities, and an overnight storage and light maintenance facility located near the end of the line. SSA is developing the station area conceptual plans for the various alignment and location on the proposes alignment. This includes various station configurations based on a developed station kit of parts. The firm is also developing station related visualization depicting these various typologies and configurations used for project development and public outreach / stakeholder coordination.
