Sowinski Sullivan (SSA) led architectural design services to develop a conceptual master plan for the White Plains TransCenter in White Plains, NY. The purpose of the master plan was to re-envision the existing facility including aesthetics, comfort, amenities, vehicle and pedestrian circulation, and wayfinding to enhance the customer experience and improve travel flows within the facility. The master plan provided Westchester County design solutions that can be implemented in phases and serve as a basis for future infrastructure investments to improve the TransCenter.

SSA performed field views of the existing facility to inform an existing conditions assessment with a focus on the look and feel and customer experience of the facility. Major and minor design scenarios and precedent studies were developed for a design workshop with Westchester County to determine the scope and scale of the master plan. Based on Westchester Counties feedback SSA developed the conceptual master plan and final report.
