SSA provided architectural design services for the Railcar Acceptance and Testing Facility in the Borough of Brooklyn as part of the AECOM design-build team for the MTA. The facility receives, tests, inspects, and accepts railcars from the manufacturer before they are put into service. SSA led the overall architectural development providing full construction documentation as part of the design-build delivery by AECOM. The railcar facility includes an inspection space with tracks and full length pits to accommodate five railcars each, administrative space, locker rooms, rest rooms, equipment rooms, and utility rooms.
